How to Zoom in or Out in Excel & Google Sheets
This tutorial demonstrates how to zoom in or out in Excel and Google Sheets.
Zoom In or Out Using Mouse
To zoom in or out with the mouse all you need to do is to press CTRL and roll the mouse wheel forward or backward to zoom in or zoom out.
Zoom In or Out Through Ribbon
Zoom In or Out Using Zoom Dialog
You can easily zoom in or out in Excel using the Zoom dialog box. To do that, follow the next steps:
In the Ribbon, (1) go to View and (2) click on the Zoom in the Zoom group.
After that, the Zoom dialog box will open. In it, you can choose one of the existing options or select the Custom option and enter the wanted zoom percentage.
Zoom the Selected Range
In Excel, you can zoom the sheet so that the selected range of cells fills the entire window. This feature can be helpful if you want to focus on a specific area of the sheet. To do this follow the next steps:
First, (1) select the range of cells you want to focus on, then in the Ribbon (2) go to View, and (3) click on Zoom to Selection.
As a result, the selected range will fill the entire window.
Zoom Sheet to 100%
To quickly zoom your document to 100% in the Ribbon (1) go to View and (2) press 100% in the Zoom group.
Open Zoom Dialog Using Keyboard
To zoom in or out you can access the zoom dialog box using the keyboard. To do that just follow the next steps:
Press ALT to display key tip labels on the Ribbon. To activate the View tab press W.
After that press Q to open the Zoom dialog box.
As a result, the Zoom Dialog Box will open, and in it choose the wanted magnification.
Add Zoom In and Out Buttons to Quick Access Toolbar
To quickly access the zoom in and out buttons you can add them to Quick Access Toolbar. To do that follow the next steps:
1. In the Ribbon, go to File and from the drop-down list choose Options.
2. The Excel Options window will open. In the left-side menu (1) choose Quick Access Toolbar, after that (2) select All Commands, and from the drop-down list (3) choose Zoom In and Zoom Out, (4) press Add, and when done (5) click OK.
As a result, Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons will be added to Quick Access Toolbar.
Zoom In or Out in Google Sheets
Zoom In or Out Using In-Built Zoom Functionality
In Google Sheets, you can quickly zoom in or zoom out with in-built zoom functionality. To do that, (1) click on the zoom option in the Toolbar and from the drop-down list (2) choose one of the existing options.
Zoom In or Out Through Toolbar
Another way to zoom in or out in Google Sheets is to go through Toolbar. In it (1) click on View, from the list (2) choose Zoom and (3) select the wanted value of magnification.

You can also use the mouse to zoom in or out, just press CTRL and roll the mouse wheel forward or backward to zoom in or zoom out.

To zoom in with the shortcut press CTRL and click on plus sign on the keyboard and to zoom out press CTRL and click minus sign.
